Background informations Dungarees:In 1911 Henry David Lee developed the first dungarees. They were called "bib-overall" and were originally made as workwear.
The tough pants with the characteristic bib were mostly made of blue denim fabric. There were usually worn by farmers and engineers.
For many years the dungarees were designed for male labors only - escpecially in the hard years of industrialization and the great depression.
But not later than 1942 the dungarees got popular for women also. The reason was the "We can do it" campaign and its protagonist Rosie. The fictitious
Rosie the Riveter didn't only get a symbol for the working women but also a feminist symbol for economic forth.
In the 70s and 80s the dungarees got a wider distribution. At that time Peter Lustig, a german television presenter, got popular in his blue denim dungarees in the leading part of "Löwenzahn". To this date he is the most famous wearer of dungarees in Germany.
In the 90s the dungarees assert themselves as workaday clothes and are worn to date in many different styles. By now there's also a short version of bib-overalls: The shortall.
Tips, tricks and instruction details for our Denim:In order to enjoy the deep blue colouring of our jeans for a long time, please do not wash above 40° and don’t use the spin cycle! While ironing please take care that the electric iron temperature is max. at level 2. Please wash those denim always inside out and with similar colours, because the slightly pre-washed denim could loose a lot of dye. Every deepblue denim will "bleed out". Because the dark dying could only be realized - and could last a long time - if the denim is dyed with indigo for several times. Indigo isn't colour-fast which brings the typical, natural ageing process of blue denim. Additionally you should take care with all light fabric covers, wallpapers and bags while wearing this denim. There also may be staining on light clothing such as underwear, sox and shoes just effected by body heat.
All Rumble59 Jeans are produced in
top quality - according the highest ecological standards. The application of chemical additives or whitener is renounced completely.
