This artwork is intended to remind the world of a piece of music history that was written on February 24, 1969, when Cash recorded his second live album in a prison. The day before, in the afternoon, he had come up with the song “San Quentin”, which was inspired by the impressions he had gained that day at California State Prison. During the concert, the first lines made the inmates fall silent at first and then break out into thunderous applause: San Quentin, I hate every inch of you!
Cash: "Thank you very much. One more time? Maybe before we do it, though, if any of the guards are still speaking to me, can I have a glass of water?"
This is a unique piece! It is an original pencil drawing on DIN A3 and will be delivered framed in a beautiful wooden frame with glass panes, not least for protection during shipping. So you can hang it up directly as you like, but you can also put it in a different frame.
